چکیده
Abstract Additional artificial ultraviolet-B irradiation (UV-B) is a substitute for the natural UV-B radiation, which believed to modulate antioxidants production in plants against abiotic stress. The present research was formulated by using an indoor chamber, capable of irradiating at single wavelength 315 nm on spearmint. In vitro destructive analysis revealed reduction accumulation chlorophyll and b as well carotenoids. However, elevated levels phenolic index total anthocyanins were recorded both 43.2 KJ/m 2 86.4 doses. TBARS assay carried out record lipid peroxidation spearmint likewise, enhanced secondary metabolites production, increased seen with successive UV–B A remarkable sugars, reducing sugars sucrose also noticed. vivo decrease estimated values increase flavanols. Overall leaf fluorescence performance improved under doses maximum quantum efficiency photosystem II. Decreases yield, plant height length internode observed however, number stems dose. results study not only provided clear indication potential modifying phytochemicals but opened room investigating various future studies their interaction towards UV-B. متن کاملSelenium elicitation and increase of secondary metabolites production by suspension-cultured Astragalus verus cells
Secondary metabolites with low molecular weight and high economic, pharmaceutical and industrial values play an important role in protecting plants against biotic and abiotic stresses. Astragalus is a medicinal herb, rich in secondary metabolites. Selenium (Se) is an essential element for humans, animals, many bacteria, and a beneficial element for plants. The plants response to selenium is dep...
